Michael Jordan was still years away from his rings but was well aware of marketing, and self promotion.

Decked out in a infrared wind-breaker, 23 year-old MJ came on Letterman to talk about his Geography degree from University of North Carolina, his sponsors, and recovering from his broken foot.

At the 5:11 mark Michael Jordan claims he was fined for his Air Jordan sneakers not having “white” in them. David Letterman responds with “Well neither does the NBA.” then Letterman throws the sneaker into the windows. *Priceless*

Dwyane Wade and LeBron James imitate NBA JAM against the Nets.

In his first professional start Ish Smith scored 7 points and dished out 6 dimes as the Rockets got their first win of the season against the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves 120-94 . Ish Smith’s responsibilities tripled overnight with news that Aaron Brooks is likely out four to six weeks with a bum ankle, and Brooks back-up Kyle Lowry is day-to-day with back spasms, so Ish is all thats left. Good thing Ish can pass that ish really well.

OperationSports: NBA2K11 10 Teams in 10 Days

The folks over at Operation Sports and @Da_Czar have set forth on a much-appreciated quest to breakdown ten teams from the soon to be released(Oct.5th) NBA 2K11 over the next ten days.

Up first were the Oklahoma City Thunder and the expanded play-call system. Next were the San Antonio Spurs and their slow but difficult to defend offense.

On day 3, Czar rested, choosing to breakdown the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe being Kobe, and the triangle. We get to see Czar unleashing his “inner Lamar” and the play that will be used over and over again-12 Island.
