Heres the ENTIRE transcript from Tiger Woods public statement on Friday. Really wish Tiger would have walked out and grabbing his nuts and simply said “What?!” Year of the Tiger! By posting the entire transcript we end our “Tiger Talk” with this post. Enjoy:

Good morning, and thank you for joining me. Many of you in this room are my friends. Many of you in this room know me. Many of you have cheered for me or you’ve worked with me or you’ve supported me.

Now every one of you has good reason to be critical of me. I want to say to each of you, simply and directly, I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible and selfish behavior I engaged in.

I know people want to find out how I could be so selfish and so foolish. People want to know how I could have done these things to my wife, Elin, and to my children. And while I have always tried to be a private person, there are some things I want to say.

Elin and I have started the process of discussing the damage caused by my behavior. As Elin pointed out to me, my real apology to her will not come in the form of words; it will come from my behavior over time. We have a lot to discuss; however, what we say to each other will remain between the two of us.

I am also aware of the pain my behavior has caused to those of you in this room. I have let you down, and I have let down my fans. For many of you, especially my friends, my behavior has been a personal disappointment. To those of you who work for me, I have let you down personally and professionally. My behavior has caused considerable worry to my business partners.

To everyone involved in my foundation, including my staff, board of directors, sponsors and most importantly, the young students we reach, our work is more important than ever. Thirteen years ago, my dad and I envisioned helping young people achieve their dreams through education. This work remains unchanged and will continue to grow. From the Learning Center students in Southern California to the Earl Woods scholars in Washington, D.C., millions of kids have changed their lives, and I am dedicated to making sure that continues.

But still, I know I have bitterly disappointed all of you. I have made you question who I am and how I could have done the things I did. I am embarrassed that I have put you in this position.

For all that I have done, I am so sorry.

I have a lot to atone for, but there is one issue I really want to discuss. Some people have speculated that Elin somehow hurt or attacked me on Thanksgiving night. It angers me that people would fabricate a story like that. Elin never hit me that night or any other night. There has never been an episode of domestic violence in our marriage, ever. Elin has shown enormous grace and poise throughout this ordeal. Elin deserves praise, not blame.

The issue involved here was my repeated irresponsible behavior. I was unfaithful. I had affairs. I cheated. What I did is not acceptable, and I am the only person to blame.

I stopped living by the core values that I was taught to believe in. I knew my actions were wrong, but I convinced myself that normal rules didn’t apply. I never thought about who I was hurting. Instead, I thought only about myself. I ran straight through the boundaries that a married couple should live by. I thought I could get away with whatever I wanted to. I felt that I had worked hard my entire life and deserved to enjoy all the temptations around me. I felt I was entitled. Thanks to money and fame, I didn’t have to go far to find them.

I was wrong. I was foolish. I don’t get to play by different rules. The same boundaries that apply to everyone apply to me. I brought this shame on myself. I hurt my wife, my kids, my mother, my wife’s family, my friends, my foundation and kids all around the world who admired me.

I’ve had a lot of time to think about what I’ve done. My failures have made me look at myself in a way I never wanted to before. It’s now up to me to make amends and that starts by never repeating the mistakes I’ve made. It’s up to me to start living a life of integrity.

I once heard, and I believe it’s true, it’s not what you achieve in life that matters; it’s what you overcome. Achievements on the golf course are only part of setting an example. Character and decency are what really count.

Parents used to point to me as a role model for their kids. I owe all those families a special apology. I want to say to them that I am truly sorry.

It’s hard to admit that I need help, but I do. For 45 days from the end of December to early February, I was in inpatient therapy receiving guidance for the issues I’m facing. I have a long way to go. But I’ve taken my first steps in the right direction.

As I proceed, I understand people have questions. I understand the press wants to ask me for the details and the times I was unfaithful. I understand people want to know whether Elin and I will remain together. Please know that as far as I’m concerned, every one of these questions and answers is a matter between Elin and me. These are issues between a husband and a wife.

Some people have made up things that never happened. They said I used performance-enhancing drugs. This is completely and utterly false. Some have written things about my family. Despite the damage I have done, I still believe it is right to shield my family from the public spotlight. They did not do these things; I did.

I have always tried to maintain a private space for my wife and children. They have been kept separate from my sponsors, my commercial endorsements. When my children were born, we only released photographs so that the paparazzi could not chase them. However, my behavior doesn’t make it right for the media to follow my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter to school and report the school’s location. They staked out my wife and they pursued my mom. Whatever my wrongdoings, for the sake of my family, please leave my wife and kids alone.

I recognize I have brought this on myself, and I know above all I am the one who needs to change. I owe it to my family to become a better person. I owe it to those closest to me to become a better man. That’s where my focus will be.

I have a lot of work to do, and I intend to dedicate myself to doing it. Part of following this path for me is Buddhism, which my mother taught me at a young age. People probably don’t realize it, but I was raised a Buddhist, and I actively practiced my faith from childhood until I drifted away from it in recent years. Buddhism teaches that a craving for things outside ourselves causes an unhappy and pointless search for security. It teaches me to stop following every impulse and to learn restraint. Obviously, I lost track of what I was taught.

As I move forward, I will continue to receive help because I’ve learned that’s how people really do change. Starting tomorrow, I will leave for more treatment and more therapy. I would like to thank my friends at Accenture and the players in the field this week for understanding why I’m making these remarks today.

In therapy, I’ve learned the importance of looking at my spiritual life and keeping in balance with my professional life. I need to regain my balance and be centered so I can save the things that are most important to me — my marriage and my children.

That also means relying on others for help. I’ve learned to seek support from my peers in therapy, and I hope someday to return that support to others who are seeking help. I do plan to return to golf one day, I just don’t know when that day will be.

I don’t rule out that it will be this year. When I do return, I need to make my behavior more respectful of the game. In recent weeks, I have received many thousands of e-mails, letters and phone calls from people expressing good wishes. To everyone who has reached out to me and my family, thank you. Your encouragement means the world to Elin and me.

I want to thank the PGA Tour, Commissioner Finchem and the players for their patience and understanding while I work on my private life. I look forward to seeing my fellow players on the course.

Finally, there are many people in this room, and there are many people at home who believed in me. Today, I want to ask for your help. I ask you to find room in your heart to one day believe in me again.

Thank you.

TheTruthSports: NBA Trade Winners!!

This years trades all seem to be Luxury Tax related, as teams traded players to increase cap room next season for the, LEBRON SWEEPSTAKES!!( you have to sound like Don Pardo when you say it). Teams such as the Bulls,Knicks, Mavs, Clippers, Nets, Miami, Houston, and even long shots such as Lakers are cap ready. It’s a shame that such a high percentage of NBA trades are about contracts first, talent and skills of the players second. Lets breakdown the winners and losers.

WINNERS

AFP/NBAE/Getty Images/File

Clevelend Cavaliers: Acquired Antawn Jamison, Sebastian Telfair. The Cavs add the 20 points, 9 rebounds a game performance, of Antwan Jamison to their league best 43-11 record. The Cavs needed someone to defend Rashard Lewis of Orlando and make him play defense on the other end. Not only is Jamison one of the best teammates LeBron has ever played with, he also acts as a bargaining chip for the Cavs to convince LeBron to stay come this summer. The way the Cavs are playing its not surprising to think that Jamison could come off the bench and play. This is by far the best team that Jamison has played for, and his 11 year pedigree will be enjoyed by the Cavs as they head to the Finals…at least the Eastern Conference Finals. The Cavs traded Zydrunas Ilgauskas, rights to Emir Preldzic, and a 2010 first-round draft pick. The Wizards are expected to buy out Ilgauskas’ contract giving him 30 days to re-sign with the Cavs. Cavs traded a draft pick for Jamison.

Dallas Mavricks: Acquired Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood, DeShawn Stevenson for the disgruntle Josh Howard, Drew Gooden, James Singleton, and Quinton Ross. The Mavs had to do something. The NBA was in town celebretaing themselves, and all the world was watching. The Mavs were soft and slowly sliding down the Western Conference totem pole. Brining in Caron Butler, and the Rebound Machine-Brendan Haywood have made the Mavs at least the 3rd best team in the West. The trade cost Dallas some $30 million in fees. Wonder how much All-Star money they got sent their way?

SO LONG TOUGH-ACTING T-MACTIN"

Houston Rockets: Acquired Kevin Martin and Hilton ArmstrongJordan HillJared Jeffries, the Knicks 2011 1st Rd. pick, and the Knicks 2012 1st Rd. pick. The Rockets gave up Tracy McGrady, Carl Landry and Joey Dorsey. Everyone makes this trade a TMac for Martin trade, but I beg to differ. This trade is Landry for Martin. Tracy Mcgrady was on the verge of staying a Rocket and waiting for a buyout from the Rockets. Then at the last moment Daryl “The Wizard” Morey convinced the Kings to take Landry for Martin. He then ran into Madison Square Garden and stole everything not tied down. The Knicks covet McGrady’s $22 million off the payroll, giving them the loot to get LeBron and one of his Super-Friends. The Rockets are trying to win NOW. The addition of Martin adds a confident scorer, to a team of 3 point shooters. The Rockets will miss Landry who takes his 16 points off the bench with him. Landry was shot and had his teeth knocked out three times while in Houston. He will be the scariest person in Sacramento not named Arnold!

Other Winners:

Sacremento Kings: Carl Landry

Portland Trailblazers: Marcus Camby

Charlotte Bobcats: Tyrus Tohmas

LeBron to launch furniture line!

Lebron James, aka “Earl” or “Duke” James(thetruthsports refuses to refer to LeBron as “King” till he has rings) has recently signed a contract with American Signature in order to launch his own collection of furniture, with design help from his female soul mate and also his brand manager. The collection will be based, according to what Lebron stated, on a family tradition which he would like to share with his fans. It will be launched in summer and is expected with great interest by the media world-wide. All details about the items that are to be produced are not yet set, even though the basketball player has a pretty clear picture of what he wants to bring to reality. I have a strong feeling that the “ghetto” will be quite proud of whatever LeBron produces.

2010-12 USA Basketball Men’s National Team

Featuring nine members of the gold medalist 2008 U.S. Olympic Team and a total of 11 Olympians who have captured a combined 15 Olympic medals (nine gold medals and six bronze medals), USA Basketball revealed today 27 players who have been named to the 2010-2012 USA Men’s National Team program. The selections were announced by USA Basketball Chairman Jerry Colangelo. “This is another important step in the reassembling of the USA National Team for the next three years of competitions that will include the FIBA World Championship in 2010, and if we qualify, the 2012 Olympics in London. Unlike 2006-08 when we were first starting the program, this time we have the benefit of including players who were members of the last national team, while also incorporating players who were involved in our pipeline the last couple of summers,” said Colangelo, who also served as Managing Director of the 2006-08 USA National Team.

Returning to the USA National Team for 2010-12 are 2008 Olympic gold medalists:Carmelo AnthonyCarlos Boozer, Chris BoshKobe BryantDwight HowardLeBron JamesChris PaulDwyane Wade, and Deron Williams. Rounding out the list of Olympians on the national squad roster are 2004 Olympic bronze medalists Lamar Odom and Amar’e Stoudemire .

Completing the list of National Team players are LaMarcus AldridgeChauncey Billups,  Kevin Durant, Rudy GayEric GordonDanny GrangerAndre Iguodala, Al JeffersonDavid Lee ,  Brook LopezKevin LoveO.J. MayoKendrick Perkins, Derrick RoseGerald Wallace, and Russell Westbrook.

“I’m really excited about the players who were selected and who committed to be part of the 2010-12 USA National Team. I’m especially pleased that so many members of the 2006-08 team wanted and were able to return,” said USA and Duke University Hall of Fame head coach Mike Krzyzewski. “We know from our prior experiences that continuity, team work, and player versatility are critical parts to assembling a team that will be successful.”

There is going to be a lot of talent battling for the final 3 roster spots left open by Tayshaun Prince, Jason Kidd and Michael Redd. Kevin Durant will most likely make it along with veteran Chauncey Billups. The last spot is a toss-up between Derrick Rose, Gerald Wallace, Brooke Lopez, and Rudy Gay. Depending on how well each plays defense and  impresses Coach K, will help their status. Lopez may be the best choice because of his height and his hispanic background, thus diversifying the team, race-wise. Regardless Team USA is en route to dominate the world in basketball yet again.

Last night, Dwyane Wade took home his first All-Star Game MVP in a fresh set of Air Jordan 2010s. Of course you win MVP in kicks this nice. While East teammate sported his own set of 2010s, what we have here is a closer look at D-Wade’s PE. Also check out the WADE” along the midfoot to remind you just which superstar wore these on his path to ASG victory.

The Truth Sports: NBA All-Star Weekend Recap

The weekend in Dallas began with 11 inches of snow and ended with Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game crowd of 108,713 fans at Cowboys Stadium to set a new basketball record. The Friday festivities included the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge, where the Rookies beat the Sophomores for the first time in 8 years. Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings was the MVP with 26 points, six rebounds and five assists. His rookie teammates Brandon Jennings and Dejaun Blair combined for 44 points and 29 rebounds. The Sophomores might have continued their dominance had Derrick Rose participated, but he was elected as an All-Star reserve so he didn’t have to play. Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder had 40 points, 6 shy of teammate Kevin Durant who was assistant coach of the Rookies.

On Saturday the H.O.R.S.E. competition got off to a slow start as Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo, and Omri Casspi shot deep threes as their trick shots and eventually ran out of time, forcing Durant and Rondo into a shootout. Rondo suprisgly hung on for a long time matching Durant shot for shot. Eventually Durant was the winner, making it back-to-back H.O.R.S.E. wins for the first time All-Star. Steve Nash proved that he still has gas in the tank, winning the Skills competition, and Paul Pierce called himself “one of the best shooters in the world” after winning the 3-point Shootout over rookie Stephen Curry. I’m not going waste any time on the Dunk Contest because it wasted my time. The NBA needs to understand that fans dedicate precious time to All-Star weekend and we look forward to an exciting Dunk Contest, but when Nate Robinson does the same dunks he has done the last 3 years, you can’t help but be disappointed.

The All-Star Game made up for any negative feelings you had towards All-Star Weekend with a fast-paced dunk-a-thon. The East was trounced last year by the West 146-119, but without Kobe and Chris Paul due to injury the East had tottal control. Dwight Howard hit a 3-pointer for heavens sake, and the lineup of Rondo, Wade, LeBron, Garnett, and Howard, seemed unstoppable. It was a night to hear a percussion line of dropping jaws hitting the floor at the parade of fancy passes, high-flying dunks and the in-your-face, seven-story close-ups of the celebrities shown on the 160 x 72 foot enormous video screens. The ginormous Cowboys Stadium put many players in awe of its size. ”We were doing it the whole game,” said Denver’s Carmelo Anthony. “When we were on the bench we were just looking around, talking about how many people there were and how excited we were just to be a part of the situation. ”We were on the court during free throws, waiting to come back from time-outs, we were looking and we were amazed by everything that was going on.” “It was unbelievable,” James said. “To be in front of 108,000, that was actually what it was, not a false number. You could look up into the stands and there was not a seat open. To be part of history is something that you always wish for a dream for. Being part of another historical event, you know, it’s humbling.” Wade lead all scores and was selected as All-Star MVP.

The Spechater’s NBA All-Star Predictions

Posted 09 Feb 2010 — by spechater
Category NBA

Here are my predictions of who will win the various NBA All-Star events. What are your opinions?

Shooting Stars- Team Dallas (Dirk Nowitzki, Becky Hammon, Kenny Smith)

In all honesty, does anyone really care about this competition? But, since it’s a part of All-Star Weekend, I’ll offer my expert opinion! Looking at the teams, how can you go against the excellent shooting trio of Hammon, the Jet, and Dirk? I’m biased because Kenny Smith played for my hometown Rockets during the championship years. Plus, Dirk is the best shooting big in NBA history hands down. Becky Hammon got game too.

Skills Challenge- Steve Nash

This is a tough one. I was leaning towards Jennings or Rose because they are the quickest out of the four. But, I’m going with the best shooter and passer out of the group, Steve Nash, to take the title. Plus, he’s still got some speed in those veteran legs.

Rookie Challenge- Rookies

I’m going to go with quickness over size and experience with this one. The sophomore squad is laden with improved Bigs such as Marc Gasol and Brook Lopez. But, I expect this to be a high-scoring, fast-paced game, which favors the Rooks. They are guard-heavy, featuring quick guards in Tyreke Evans, Brandon Jennings, and Stephen Curry. I predict the score to be 135-121 and the Rooks will break the seven year losing streak. Side point: How did Ty Lawson not make the Rookie squad?

Three-Point Shootout – Stephen Curry

I’m going to go with a first-time participant on this one. Curry has the highest 3-pt FG% of the six participants and has a quick release. Also, I don’t think he’ll be nervous under the bright lights. Unfortunately for him, he has to return to the black hole that is the Golden State Warriors after the weekend. Sheesh! I put reigning champ Daequan Cook at second. Paul Pierce doesn’t seem to have a quick enough shooting style for this competition. We’ll see.

Slam Dunk Competition- Shannon Brown

I have a feeling Shannon Brown may take off from the free throw line with something sick. He’s extremely athletic and a quick leaper. Besides, I think people, including myself, are tired of Nate Robinson. I’m picking DeMar DeRozan to win the dunk-in and wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the Finals against Brown.  I personally would love to have seen Terrence Williams from the Nets in this competition and first-time All-Star Derrick Rose. Have you seen some of the dunks these two have done in games this season?! Rose’s cocked-back two hand dunk against the Suns is easily Top 5 this season.

All-Star Game- East Team

Although the competition in the Eastern conference continues to pale in comparison to that of the West, you can’t bet against a starting lineup that includes LBJ, D-Wade, and Superman. Plus, West squad All-Stars, such as Brandon Roy and Chris Paul, are dropping out day by day from injuries. Now there’s news that Kobe may not play. I’ll give the East a slight edge, 128-121. The West has the better bench with Durant, Nowitzki, and D. Williams, which will keep it a close affair.

Congratulations Saints!
